The Results of the Winter Birdwatching activities |
On the January 14 th we participated in the Winter Birdwatching activities, as we do every year. This year, the winter has been quite warm and with lots of rain, so the birds have scattered around in different areas. On the Vrana Lake, we noticed fewer birds than usual, but there were a lot of different species present. The information from the other observers show that in some areas there were more birds than usual, so this is just a birds' way to find themselves the best habitat at the moment. On this warm and sunny day, we counted 1362 birds, mostly coots and seagulls, and of course, the pygmy cormorants, our favourite inhabitants! |
